"Ningning ng Inang Mahal, Pasasalamat ng Buong Bayan"
Radiance of Our Beloved Mother, Gratitude of the Whole Town
Our Festival
Every October, the Municipality of Pilar in Bataan comes alive with color, music, and devotion as it celebrates the Kasinagan Festival — its grandest annual fiesta honoring its beloved patroness, Nuestra Señora del Pilar.
From Thanksgiving Masses and Grand Marian Processions to street dancing competitions, trade fairs, motor shows, and live concerts, the festival weaves together the community's deep religious roots and its vibrant cultural heritage into one unforgettable celebration.
Led by the Local Government Unit of Pilar, the festival has grown into a symbol of shared identity, collective pride, and the enduring spirit of the Pilarian people.
Kasinagan takes its name from the Filipino word sinag — meaning radiance, glow, or bright light.
Legend holds that when Spanish galleons first arrived at the shores of what is now Pilar, a brilliant flash of light struck the bay before the natives could even speak — and so the place became forever associated with that divine, luminous glow.
Today, that radiance lives on in every lantern, every dancer, every prayer, and every joyful voice that fills the streets of Pilar each October.

Our Beloved Patroness
At the heart of every Kasinagan Festival is a deep and unwavering devotion to Nuestra Señora del Pilar — Our Lady of the Pillar — the beloved patroness of the town of Pilar, Bataan.
The name of the festival itself — Kasinagan, from the word sinag (radiance) — reflects the luminous grace attributed to her. The crown she wears is said to radiate a divine light, the very sinag that gave the town its name and its spirit.
Each year, the festival's theme renews the community's gratitude and love — for the blessings received, for the unity preserved, and for the light she continues to shine over the people of Pilar.
